Objective with the project: We believe that the differences between those taking parts in this project shall be considered as a strength. We will make recognition and set out pedagogically products in our relation through the work with disabled people. – B.1 Summary of the project The view of human nature, which lies at the root of the Danish “Law of Service” (Servicelov), is universal - it is the foundation for disabled persons to be considered as the person they are, and therefore the condition for their own development. As Kirkegaard has stated “we shall start with the individual” and the project is build on this position. The participants meet in an “International Pedagogical Forum”, which contains several elements (like seminar, work shops, visit to other living units and culture knowledge). This is the foundation for the exchange of experiences, future developments and reflection, and to transform those experiences and new approaches into daily work. Then intention is to achieve “the important knowledge” together with the methods to give the disabled person an individual service, that aims for “the lifelong learning” - a learning both for the “teacher” and “student” - a process with development on personal, social, education and occupation level. In this way it is our intention to increase the individual’s competence, and to improve the conditions to achieve quality in life, in spite of disability in a social environment in agreement with people of the same status in the surrounding community. The project shall be a process pointing forward where correlation between participants is starting on executive level, with basis in Danish conditions and experiences. In the first activity we will disseminate new pedagogically products and models. |
